Some kind of milestone

I passed some kind of milestone on my journey from idea to published book today. At least, I;m going to declare it a milestone and celebrate.

This afternoon I finished making final changes in my manuscript before shipping it off to the publisher for “line editing” on Tuesday. (I guess even publishers and editors get some time off over the Labor Day weekend.) I’m going to take some time myself, driving down to Carmel/Big Sur tomorrow to hear Philip Glass perform his Solo Piano pieces at the Hidden Valley Theatre.

It’s a small venue and I’m excited to hear the Metamporposis pieces, which I have long admired. I’ve heard Glass in concert several times, including a recent performance at US Davis, and he’s still in fine form.

I’m going to do my best not to fixate on the book for a few days.
